Farming Practices

With our roughly 1.5 acres of growing space, we practice high intensity farming all year round. This means we grow a diverse array of greens, vegetables, flowers, fruits, and more in a relatively small space. We practice a variety of growing methods on our property, such as in-field beds, unheated high tunnels, raised planting beds, and a heated glass greenhouse. While we are not certified organic, we utilize organic farming techniques such as compost application, crop rotation, biodiversity in planting, a variety of perennial and annual plantings, and pro-pollinator outdoor design. Any additional products we use are certified OMRI-approved organic, and we source locally whenever possible.

Frog Bench Farms is committed to sustainable and innovative farming practices. We work to conserve water by making use of an extensive drip irrigation system,  legal rainwater collection to keep our glass greenhouse watered, and circulating water systems in our indoor microgreen growing area. We also utilize solar and battery power whenever possible. Additionally, we try to minimize waste by creating our own compost or repurposing crops into our Secondary Products. We are always aiming to produce less waste and create more fertility on our farm!
